FAQ Donations

Is it possible to help locally or to take a practical training there?

Unfortunately not. First of all this is not at all possible at present political situation. Secondly Lotti Latrous receives a lot of help from the ladies of International Ladies Organization, Abidjan; they assist whenever needed on part time basis. Last but not least any local help by foreign personals will endanger the position of the local employees and will rob them of their only livelihood.

Is it possible to contact Lotti Latrous directly?

Please contact the Administration office in Zurich

Can clothes, toys and other goods be donated?

The cost of transport of any kinds of goods is very very high - and once it reaches Abidjan, it is not possible to get it released from the customs without having to pay substantial custom duty. For this reason the idea of sending goods from outside is not a good idea.

Important Notice:

The Board of Trustees likes to inform you that in view of the political situation in the Ivory Coast, which has been tense time and again, all the donations go to a Swiss Bank Account with the Union Bank of Switzerland preventing the possible danger of the money being confiscated by the state of Ivory Coast.

The aim has been laid down as follows in the bylaws:
"The money of the Foundation will be used for Aids projects in any country of Black Africa."

With any remittance to the foundation’s account you can be sure that your donation will be used only for poorest of the poor.
